Privacy Policy

Chronicled is a small independent project. This page describes what's actually collected today, in plain language — it isn't a substitute for formal legal review.

1. What We Collect

World/campaign details you enter	Used to generate content grounded in your setting
Generated content & portrait art	Stored so your archive persists between sessions
Usage data (generation/image/point counts, subscription status, credit balance, entry counts per world)	Enforcing free-account, subscription, and entry limits, and cost tracking.
Billing status (plan, subscription status, payment history)	Managed by Stripe on our behalf — see below. We store which plan you're on and whether payments are current, not your card details.

2. Third Parties We Use

Chronicled relies on a small number of external services to function:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage for your account and archive
Anthropic (Claude) — generates narrative/text content based on what you enter
Google (Gemini) — generates portrait art
Stripe — processes subscription, credit-pack, and entry-pack payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive or store them. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Resend — sends account-related email (e.g. login/verification)
Render — hosts the application

Your world content and prompts are sent to Anthropic and Google as part of generating your content, subject to their respective terms. We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't use your campaign content to train our own models.

3. What We Don't Do

We don't run ads or share your data with advertisers
We don't sell your email or campaign content to third parties
We don't handle or store your payment card details directly — that's Stripe's job, by design

4. Your Data, Your Control

You can delete a world from the Settings page at any time. You can manage or cancel your subscription and view billing history directly through Stripe's self-serve billing portal, linked from the Settings page. To delete your account entirely or request a copy of your data, email us and we'll handle it directly — there's no automated self-serve flow for this yet, being a small product.

5. Waitlist Signups

If you sign up for the waitlist before creating an account, we store your email address and, internally, a note of where you signed up from (e.g. the landing page or itch.io) so we can understand which channels are working. This is used only to invite you and isn't shared externally.

6. Changes to This Policy

As Chronicled grows, this policy will be updated, with the "last updated" date reflecting the change.
